Astella has helped to revitalize the Coney Island Board of Trade and continues to work closely with its members on a variety of projects:

• In collaboration with the Coney Island Board of Trade, Astella adorns merchants’ storefront windows along Mermaid Avenueduring Black History Month with posters honoring famous African Americans and Coney Islandresidents who have made positive impacts upon the community. In 2011, Astella and the Coney Island Board of Trade coordinated a History and Essay Contest based on the information contained on the posters
• In collaboration with the Coney IslandBoard of Trade, presents “Winter Wonderland,” showcasing fall winter scene paintings by a local artist on the windows of merchant storefronts on Mermaid Avenue
• Offering assistance to the Coney Island Board of Trade in coordinating its Mermaid Avenue Summer Sidewalk Street Fair on July 16, 2011
• Assists in maintaining the Coney Island Board of Trade website
